Splints and Sleep

Occlusal Splints

Occlusal splints, also known as night guards or bite plates, are used in dental treatments to reduce the effects of teeth grinding (bruxism), protect teeth, and extend the life of dental work or orthodontic results. They act as a barrier to prevent damage from grinding and clenching, especially at night.

Talon Occlusal Splint Benefits

At Oceanic Dental Laboratory, we use first-grade materials and advanced digital equipment to quickly create custom dental splints that perfectly meet patient needs. That’s why we’ve chosen Talon, a premium material renowned for its exceptional benefits:

  • Easy to insert and remove.
  • Secure fit with excellent retention.
  • Comfortable with no tissue pressure.
  • Requires minimal chairside adjustments.
  • Durable hard acrylic for bruxism protection.
  • Retains shape and doesn’t warp.

Occlusal Splints made from Quality Material

We offer a wide range of occlusal splints to suit various patient needs. If Talon is not your preferred choice, we provide other high-quality options, each crafted with premium materials and advanced techniques for comfort, durability, and effective protection.

  • Orthocryl Hard Splints: Orthocryl hard splints are durable and rigid, offering strong protection against bruxism. They provide robust support to prevent tooth wear and damage while ensuring a stable and comfortable fit.

  • Michigan Splints: Michigan splints are made from hard acrylic and are effective for managing bruxism and TMJ disorders. They relax jaw muscles, reduce TMJ stress, and protect teeth from grinding, making them ideal for nighttime wear.

  • NTI Splints: NTI (Nociceptive Trigeminal Inhibition) splints help reduce jaw tension and headaches from clenching or grinding. They cover only the front teeth, preventing molars and canines from engaging, which relieves pressure and pain.

  • Gelb Splints: Gelb splints are used for TMJ therapy and jaw repositioning. They create space between the upper and lower molars, reducing TMJ pressure and relieving jaw pain and alignment issues.
